Carmen Lydia Mayol, 76, of Avon Park, FL, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025. She was born on February 10, 1949, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the late Pedro Mayol and Ana Luisa Gonzalez.
A devoted Catholic, Carmen found strength and solace in her faith, spending time reading her Bible and praying with her Rosary. She had a deep love for her family and expressed it through her cooking, preparing meals with care. Carmen worked as a hairdresser, using her creativity and skill to bring joy to others. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, making costume jewelry, and tending to her plants.
Carmen is survived by her loving daughters, Damaris Sanabria and Ana Celia Carrion; her cherished siblings, Wilfredo Mayol, Juana Mayol, and Lydia Mayol; six beloved grandchildren, Wilmary Pagani, Joshua Velez, Marlyn Boria, Marcos Boria, Shaira Grant, and Kiara Grant; and seven precious great-grandchildren, Kaleb Nobles, Mason Velez, Jaylan Velez, Noah Vivero, Isabella Pagani, Kamari Thomas, and Cielo Velez. She was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
Carmen’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL. Donations may be made in Carmen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, honoring her spirit of kindness and generosity.
