With heavy hearts and loving memories, we celebrate the life of Carl Clifford Veil, who departed this world on June 22, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. Born on October 8, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carl filled 81 years with unwavering dedication to his family, friends, country, and community.

Carl graduated from South Dade High School in 1961, marking the beginning of a purposeful journey defined by commitment and service. His early adult years were shaped in service to his country as a corpsman in the United States Navy, entering on October 4, 1962, and fulfilling his duty until February 7, 1966. This experience became the cornerstone of Carl’s identity—a foundation built on selflessness, courage, and pride, qualities that would accompany him throughout his life.

Faithfully devoted to his work and those around him, Carl built a long and meaningful career as a lineman for Florida Power and Light, dedicating 32 years of his life to ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of his community. Carl approached each task, large or small, with patience, craftsmanship, and pride—a testament to his character and his sense of responsibility to others.

Carl’s passions extended well beyond his professional commitments. He found joy in refurbishing golf carts, channeling his creativity and attention to detail into breathing new life into these machines. An enthusiast of shooting pool, Carl could often be found enjoying the camaraderie and competition of the game. His love for making things better and brighter also expressed itself through his love of remodeling homes—transforming spaces into welcoming havens for those he held dear. He was a proud member of both the Homestead and Lake Placid Moose Lodge, where he forged enduring friendships and left an indelible mark on his community.

Among Carl’s greatest sources of pride was his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Jeanne Veil, who shared his journey and heart across countless years. Carl's legacy continues through his son, Fred Veil, and his daughters, Brenda Veil, Brandi Veil, and Rachel Veil, each of whom carry forward his spirit and wisdom. His deep devotion as a father was mirrored in his grandchildren—Sevren, Kylin, Scarlet, Averi, Alex, Joshua, Kasey, Brittney, and Brian—whose lives he nurtured and cherished. The joy of watching future generations blossom was granted to him as a great-grandfather to Alaina, Joshia, and Alayah, whose smiles brightened his days. Carl treasured the bonds with his extended family, including his sister Jacqueline, step-son Rene Lieurance, and step-daughter Jeanne Lieurance. Their connections were sources of strength and comfort in both joyful and challenging times.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Carl F. Veil and Judith Veil, whose memory shaped and supported him throughout his life.

The pride Carl felt for his family shone especially strong when speaking of his grandson Alex, who serves in the United States Army. The torch of service and selflessness has clearly been passed to the next generation, a legacy of which Carl was deeply proud.

As we honor Carl’s memory, we remember a man whose hands were always busy making life better for those around him, whose heart was steadfast and true, and whose laughter filled the rooms he entered. His presence will be dearly missed but his impact will live on, woven into the stories, values, and love of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
