Carl Orville Smith, Jr.

Carl Orville Smith Jr., aged 75, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, in Sebring, FL. He was born on December 4, 1945, in Grand Rapids, MI to Maxine Jeanette (Leversay) Smith and Carl O. Smith Sr. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and soon after pursued a career as a government contractor, employed by the combined Boeing and McDonnell Douglas companies. He was a devoted follower of his Catholic faith and in his younger years was an avid bowler and scuba diver. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing bingo, and watching sports games on television. He is survived by his loving wife, Concepcion; his two sons, Carl Smith III and Christopher Smith; and his daughter, Crystal Phillips. Surviving also are 7 grandchildren: Ashley, Sabrina, Jeremy, Dominique, Bubba, Marcel, and Genevieve, in addition to 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on October 27, 2021 at 2:30pm.
