Carl Robert Gough

Carl Robert Gough, 97 of Avon Park FL passed away April 21, 2018 in Avon Park, FL. He was born February 27, 1921 in Evansville, IN to Orville S. and Colleta (Butcher) Gough.  Carl moved to Avon Park, FL after already accomplishing so many things in life.  He served his country proudly in the Coast Guard and was also a WWII Veteran.  He attended Purdue University seeking a degree in Electrical Engineering, he worked for Eli Lilly & Company, a pharmaceutical company, for 42 years, and most importantly, he met Mary Rolfsen. Carl and Mary were married on August 7, 1945 and were together 72 years within which they started a large beautiful family.  Carl is survived by his children: Rita Schneider of Covington, LA; Carol Hayden of Avon Park, FL; Joseph Gough of Carmel, CA; Mary Beth Key of Jasper, GA; James Gough of Greenwood, IN; Patricia Noe of Greenwood, IN and Amy McCall of Greensboro, NC.  Carl had 20 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. He was predeceased by his sister Gerry Anderson and brother Donald Gough.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Grace in Avon Park, FL starting at 10:00am.
