Carl Agee Bates Jr.

Carl Agee Bates Jr., passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Sebring, Florida at the age of 76. The son of Carl Agee Bates Sr. and Esther Beatrice (Royce) Bates. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Georgetown, KY. Carl worked as a carpenter in the construction industry and had been a resident of Sebring since 2002. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict and was of Baptist faith. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW. Carl enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard. He is survived by his loving wife – Nancy; sons -Ronnie Bates (Nancy) of Fayetteville, GA; Donnie Bates (Karla) of Fayetteville, GA; daughter – Sherrie Lenz (Steve) of Avon Park, FL; brother – Mike Bates (Carol) of Lexington, KY; sisters – Janice Mozer (Mike) of Reading, OH; Teresa Bates of Cynthiana, KY. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
