Dr. Camille Jamison, 87, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Sebring, Florida. Camille was born to Bruce and Margaret Ann Jamison on November 18, 1937, in Vancouver, Washington. Camille was raised in a Christian home and the Lord drew her to Himself at a young age.
Camille graduated from Multnomah School of the Bible where she first felt the call of God to Africa. She was encouraged by a missionary to get a medical degree and use her skills on the field to help heal body and soul. Her favorite verse, Faithful is He that calleth you who also will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24, helped give her focus through the years of medical school.
Motivated to bring glory to God by following His leading, Camille submitted her application to Africa Evangelical Fellowship (now SIM). She was accepted and arrived in Zambia in 1967. Her first patient at Mukinge Hospital was a man attacked by a lion! Thankfully that did not deter her. Camille served at Mukinge for 17 years with one year at Luampa Hospital. She returned to the States in 1986 to do an OB/GYN residency. After completing that program, Camille went to Mseleni Hospital in South Africa where she served for 10 years. Camille made a substantial contribution to the medical ministries of AEF/SIM.
Due to health needs, Camille returned to the U.S. where she served as a physician in the SIM USA medical office in Charlotte, NC. She faithfully met the needs of SIM missionaries until her retirement in 2006. At that time, she moved to the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring, Florida where she enjoyed the fellowship of the community.
