Bruce A. Nielsen

Bruce A. Nielsen, 65, of Sebring, FL passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born in Clinton, IA to the late Richard and Jean (Boyles) Nielsen on January 3, 1953. He worked as an electrician in the construction business and has been a resident of Highlands County since 1977. He attended First Baptist Church of Lorida and served in the Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, trivia and spending time with his family and dog, Lizzie. Survivors include: wife; Nancy Nielsen of Sebring, FL, children; Shannon (Daniel) Rivers of Henderson, NV, Amy (David) Bloom of Corbin, KY, David (Saraetta) Johns of Lorida, FL, Richard (Kristy) Nielsen of Davenport, FL and David (Samantha) Tucker of Sebring, FL along with 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Marie Nielsen, daughter, Rebecca Johns, two great-grandchildren; Brentley and Haygen and brother, Peter Nielsen. Memorial contributions can be made to VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church in Lorida with Pastor Wayne Godwin to officiate.
