Brenda Kay Pope

Brenda K Pope, 64, passed away on January 14, 2026 in Avon Park where she resided. Brenda was born in Oregon, Ohio where she was raised and later graduated in 1980 from Clay High School. She went on to earn 2 degrees in art and sciences from south Florida Community College. Brenda built a dedicated career as a transportation dispatcher where she was known for her reliability, intelligence and strong work ethic.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father Don Schutt. Brenda is survived by her loving husband J. Harry Pope, her cherished daughter Lindsey Pope and her parents Terry and Karen Lewis and step mother Sharon Schutt. She is also survived by her siblings Doug (Kandie) Lewis, Jennifer (Terry) Gravelle, DJ Schutt and Jennifer (Josh) Smith, along with with many beloved nieces and nephews and exchange students who became part of her extended family and her dearly loved cats.

Brenda will be remembered for her caring heart, dedication to her family and the many lives she touched throughout her personal and professional life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and quiet generosity that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
