Brady L. Hopson

Brady L. Hopson, age 80, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Lake Placid, Florida. Mr. Hopson was born in Bowling Green, Florida on April 8, 1934 to Preston Strickland and Martha Viola (Durrance) Hopson. Mr. Hopson was a Manager for Jahna Concrete since 1960. He served in the Army National Guard, loved being outdoors, was an avid nature lover, animal lover, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially looked forward to spending time with his family and was an expert story teller as only a true Florida Cracker could be. Mr. Hopson had been a resident of Highlands county since 1942 coming from Bowling Green, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 36 years-Patricia Hopson of Lake Placid, Florida; daughters-Connie, Vicki, Becky, Brenda, Alane, Sandra, Patti and Darlene; son-Roger; brother-Glenn and sister-Valrie; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Hopson was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-Harold and a granddaughter-Brandy. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, Florida with funeral services to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
