Billy Frank Cooper

Billy “Bill” Frank Cooper, age 91, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Clio, Alabama on November 18, 1932 to the late James and Foye Melinda (Day) Cooper. Bill had been a resident of Avon Park since 1940 coming from Alabama. He was married in Florida Avenue Baptist Church and continued to attend there until his passing.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the “All American” 82nd Airborne division. He began working for the Inter-County Telephone Company as a lineman in 1955, working his way up to supervisor and retiring in 1992. Bill is survived by his Wife of 65 years – JoAnn Cooper of Avon Park, FL; Daughter – Brenda Longshore (Eric) of Avon Park, FL; Son – Steve Cooper of Avon Park, FL; Daughter - Kim Jahna (Noel) of Avon Park, FL; 5 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Florida Avenue Baptist Church at 11:00am with family receiving friends beginning at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Florida Avenue Baptist Church.
