Bertram Dale Durden, age 82, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away on January 20, 2025.   He was born on March 6, 1942, in Swainsboro, Georgia, to the late Lee Henry Durden, and Louise (Amerson) Durden.

Dale was a farmer and worked in the citrus industry before starting a career as a Project Supervisor for Central Florida Turf where he worked for 21 years until his retirement.  He was instrumental in building golf courses all over the state, including the prestigious Black Diamond and Lakewood Ranch.

He enjoyed golf and loved playing his guitars, singing and composing songs.

Dale is survived by his sister, Sharon Townsend of Swainsboro, GA; step children, Renee L Lewis (Kevin) of St Johns, FL, Darlene Kreigh of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Ricky Viets (Shirley) of Avon Park, FL; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who considered Dale their second Dad.

Preceding him in death is his beloved wife Ruth Enoch Durden; his parents; his sisters June Dickens and Beth Renew, and his brother Russell Durden.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
