Bernard Ashley “Bernie” Timm
August 22, 1974 - August 16, 2026
Bernard Ashley “Bernie” Timm, 51, of Highlands County, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Sebring, Florida, just days before his 52nd birthday.
Bernie was born on August 22, 1974, in Flint, Michigan, to Bernard Timm and Ann Marie Turner. He later moved from Petoskey, Michigan, to Highlands County, Florida, where he made his home for more than 30 years and became a familiar face to many throughout the community.
Above all else, Bernie was a family man. His family meant everything to him, and there was nothing he loved more than spending time with the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, an incredible Dad and Peepaw, and someone his family could always count on. He shared his life with his loving wife and best friend, Sarah, and together they built a life and family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Bernie was a hardworking man who proudly owned and operated Bernie’s House Painting. Through his work over the years, he became much more than simply someone people hired to paint their homes. He built friendships, helped countless people throughout the community, and left his mark on so many of the people and places he encountered. He was always willing to lend a hand, and the relationships he built over the years spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.
Some of Bernie’s happiest moments were spent doing the things he loved - fishing, working in his garden, cooking, and being surrounded by family and friends. He was an amazing cook and loved making meals for the people he cared about. Whether he was spending a day on the water, tending to his garden, cooking something everyone looked forward to, or simply sitting around laughing and making memories, Bernie enjoyed the simple things that brought the people he loved together.
Bernie will be remembered for his strength, his big heart, his sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and, most of all, the tremendous love he had for his family and friends. He touched more lives than he probably ever realized and left a lasting mark on his family, his friends, and his community.
Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Timm; his children, Bernard (Tracy) Timm II, Saydi (Dawson) Cochran, Chance (Jazmine “Jazz”) Timm, and Makayla Timm; his grandchildren, Kailani and Paislee; his father, Bernard Timm; his mother and stepfather, Ann Marie and Jack Turner; his sister, Sarah (Eugene) Spires; and his father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Connie Baker.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Arianna Timm, whose memory remained forever in his heart and an important part of his family’s story.
Bernie’s life was filled with family, friendship, hard work, laughter, and love. While he will be missed more than words can express, there is so much about his life worth celebrating. His stories will continue to be told, his traditions will be carried on, and the love, lessons, and memories he gave to those around him will live on for generations.
