Benny Lee Pierson, 79, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on February 23, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1945, in Charles Town, West Virginia, to the late Dana and Nellie Pierson.
Benny spent over twenty years as a resident of Sebring after moving from his beloved home state of West Virginia. He worked as a dedicated crane operator and was a proud member of the Elks Club, American Legion, and VFW. A man of faith, he attended Brownville Baptist Church in Maryland and Calvary Baptist Church in Sebring.
He found joy in traveling and was always eager for new adventures. Alongside his family and close friends in the “Happy Face Travel Club,” Benny explored many places, creating cherished memories along the way.
Benny is survived by his sisters, Sally Tomlin and Nancy Loudan; and his nephew, Charles Stewart, along with many other caring nieces and nephews. He was a loving grandfather to Mikaela Rankin and Cameron Payne and a proud great-grandfather to Harper Rankin. Benny also shared a special bond with his dear and sweet friend Dottie Pledger, aka “Shug”.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. Pierson, his daughter Paula R. Payne his siblings, Pearl, Leona, Carl, James, Marshall, Wallace, Danny, and Donald.
Benny will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for family and friends, and the kindness he shared with all who knew him.
A service to honor his life will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Boulineau officiating.
