BENNY ELDRIDGE FORDHAM Benny Eldridge Fordham, 96, of Statesboro, GA, and former resident of Sebring, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Eagle Health and Rehabilitation under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bulloch County native moved to Sebring, FL in 1939 and was the owner and operator of Bennys Music and Bennys Menswear for over 27 years. Mr. Fordham was also a restaurant owner and opened the first drive-in in Highlands County. After retiring, he moved back to Bulloch County in 1974. He loved to fish and hunt and was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen P. Fordham; daughter, Lawanda Fordham; son, Irvin Fordham; two sisters, Luree Newsome and Corene Mallard. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ricky McCullough of Statesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Benny Buddy E. and Maria Anna Fordham of Texas; three sisters, Victoria Gore, Avon Park, FL; Christine Skinner, Springfield, VA and Edith Dale Deal, Statesboro, GA; brother, Emerson Skinner, Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Chris (Jenny) Fordham; Blake (Leslie) Fordham; Dr. Justin (Jennifer) McCullough; Jessica (Jason) Parrish and Shelby Fordham; six great-grandchildren, Chloe Fordham; Emma Fordham; Tyler Fordham; Cameron Fordham; Nicholas McCullough and Paisley Parrish; his dog, Anna and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, with Rev. David Richardson officiating. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery will be immediately following the service.
