BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FRANK CAMP, junior. Benjamin Franklin Frank Camp, junior, 82, of Avon Park, Florida, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2010. Born on April 25, 1928, in Wauchula, Florida, to parents who were early pioneers of the area his father having come from Kentucky to homestead. Frank became a lifelong resident of Avon Park, Florida. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Avon Park. He graduated from Avon Park High School in 1946. He played and lettered in football, basketball, and baseball while attending high school. Frank was a member of the Avon Park baseball teams that were the runner-up State Champions in 1945 and 1946. He received the award for the Player with the Most Hustle in 1946. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and receiving the World War II Victory Medal. He attended the University of Florida and was an avid Gator fan. He retired from Life & Casualty Insurance Co. as an Associate Sales Manager in 1982, after 32 years of service. Frank loved sports and hunting. During his lifetime he was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Jaycees, American Legion, and the Diamond Club in Avon Park. Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Wells Camp; two daughters, Laura Camp Dennery (John) of Jackson, Mississippi, and Lynn Camp Cloud (Darrell) of Sebring, Florida. He and Betty were blessed with 5 grandchildren: Nicole Dennery Brien (Patrick) of Roswell, Georgia; Christopher Darryn Cloud (Mia) of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; Christina Dennery Hester (Len) of Memphis, Tennessee; and Nicholas John Dennery II of Jackson, Mississippi; two nieces, Patricia Locke Knight (Steve) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Melissa Locke Lund (Alan) of Seneca, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Thelma Woolfolk Camp and his granddaughter, Jennifer Jo Cloud. Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service starting 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, with burial to follow at Hart Cemetery in Lemon Grove.
