Barry Lester Maltby, 73, of Sebring, FL passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 after losing his battle with end stage renal disease (ESRD).  He died peacefully at home surrounded by family.  Barry was born in London, England on August 1, 1944 to parents Joseph Howard and Nora Maltby.  Barry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Debra “Debs” Maltby, his children, Genevieve Maltby, Jennifer (David) Shedbalkar, John (Tina) Steinhour, grandchildren, Elizabeth Hare, Tori, Jilly and J.J., as well as, siblings, Donna (Jim) Linhart, Dale (Jan) Melquist, Robin Maltby and Tessa Holtham.  Barry served as an Electrical Artificer in the Royal Navy for 12 years (Fleet Air Arm).  He graduated from the University of Reading, England, with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.  Prior to moving to the United Sates he worked for British Aerospace, once in the U.S. he worked at Hamilton-Sundstrand until retirement.  Barry was a loving husband and father and an extremely proud grandfather, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, classical music and crossword puzzles.  A Celebration of Life will be held in Sebring, FL in honor of Barry in the coming weeks. Barry requested that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to a charity of your choosing.
