Barbara S. Vickers

Barbara S. Vickers, age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Sebring, Florida.  She was born on November 7, 1932 to the late Floyd M. and Espage (Rogers) Schumacher in Tampa, Florida.  Barbara had been a lifelong resident of Sebring and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sebring.  She was very active in her church where she sang in the choir and led many Bible studies.  She graduated from Sebring High School where she was a member of the band and was Miss Sebring High.  She also graduated from Florida State University and taught school for a few years.  While attending Florida State University, she met the love of her life, Robert Vickers, whom she was married to for 63 years.  She enjoyed cooking, entertaining guests and especially loved her friends, family and her Lord.  She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Vickers of Sebring, Florida; Daughters, Kay Todd (Wayne) of Sebring, Florida; Liz Stephan of Sebring, Florida; Trish Miceli (Chuck) of Longwood, Florida; Sister, Cynthia Schumacher of Sebring, Florida; Brother, Charles Schumacher of Sebring, Florida; Brother-in law, Edward Koch; Sister-in-law, Sandra Schumacher; Grandchildren, Cara Orr; Heath Todd; Andrew Stephan; Stephen Miceli; Marcus Miceli; Great-Grandchildren, Jaylee Orr; Jaden Orr; Gabriel Stephan.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her Step-mother, Harriett Schumacher; Sister, Louise Koch; Brother, Bill Schumacher and Sister-in-law, Aida Schumacher.  Funeral Services will take place on Monday, June 25, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church of Sebring at 11:00am with family receiving friends beginning at 10:0am.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL.  Memorial Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 319 Poinsettia Ave., Sebring, FL  33870.
