Barbara J. Kurtz

Barbara J. Kurtz, age 94, of Sebring, FL, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018.  She was born in Marceline, Missouri on February 7, 1923 to George R. and Alice L. (Swan) McGregor.  Barbara was a Registered Nurse for 48 years, was the Director of Nursing when Highlands Regional Medical Center opened in 1965 and later developed the Nursing Education Program at South Florida State College.  She served in the U.S. Navy at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL for four years and was of the Protestant Faith.  Barbara is survived by her Sister –Georgia R. (McGregor) Tidd and several Nieces and Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her Husband – Bob Kurtz; her Parents and 4 Sisters.  She will be laid to rest next to her Husband in Florida National Cemetery on February 22, 2018 at 12:30 PM.
