Barbara Betts Kluberg

Barbara Betts Kluberg, age 89 passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Marlboro, New York to Walter Sherwood and Jane (Pratt) Betts. She owned and operated the Avon Park Book Exchange, member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Avon Park, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, the Sweet Adelines and DAR, she graduated from Avon Park High School in 1938 and Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia in 1942, she was the Band director for Avon Park High School from 1943 to 1944, she had been a resident of Avon Park since 1934 coming from New York. She married Willard Nelson Nels Kluberg in 1944, (they were married 45 years before his death). She is survived by her children-Nancy Dobler (Rich) of Lake Wales, Florida, Katherine Willingham of Gainesville, Georgia and John Kluberg (Kelly) Georgetown, Texas; sister-Nancy Nunnallee of Avon Park, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.
