Barbara Ann Johnson

Barbara Ann Johnson, 79, Avon Park passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family on 01 August 2012. Barbara was born on September 4, 1932 in Fraser, MI. She was one of three children born to Morris and Linda (Wormsbacher) Grady. She graduated Shrine High School of Royal Oak, MI in 1950. On September 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Ray Johnson in Royal Oak, MI. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Royal Oak, MI and then to Rochester, MI where they raised a family of 5 children. She and her family moved to Avon Park in 1973, where her husband, Donald, worked as a builder until their retirement, in 1995. Barbara will forever be remembered for her good nature and willingness to help everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. Her friends, children, and grandchildren were always her greatest source of happiness. Barbara is survived by her husband, Donald Johnson of Avon Park, FL; brother Gary (Sun Bi) Grady of Caledonia, MI; son Michael Johnson of Avon Park, FL; daughter Judith (Jeffrey) Bratvold of Avon Park, FL; daughter Laurie (William) Stringfield of St Petersburg, FL; son James (Margaret) Johnson of Melbourne, FL; as well as, 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Maureen Grady, and son Stephen Johnson. Memorials are preferred to Highlands County Good Sheppard Hospice.
