Barbara Marie Gomez, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. She was born on May 10, 1941, in Bartow, Florida.
Barbara lived a long and meaningful life defined by love, resilience and dedication. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to her family. A proud and dependable employee, Barbara worked at Walmart for over twenty-four years. She was a hard worker who took great pride in her job and formed many lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike. Her dedication and reliability were a true reflection of her character.
Barbara was incredibly giving, the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without any hesitation. She always put others before herself and fund joy in helping who’s in need. Her generosity, warmth and selfless spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Above all else, Barbara cherished her family. She leaves behind her four beloved children; Jerry (Connie) Howard, Debra (Carlos) Romualdo, Cindy Howard, Christi Howard, twelve cherished grandchildren. Lupe, Maria, Julie, Eduardo, Jorge, Jimmy, Christopher, Matthew, Amber, Katrina, Danyella, Sherry and eight great grandchildren, Lupe Jr. Lucas, Leo, Jomar, Kayden, Lucia, Sarai and Baby Reynoso, all of whom brought her great pride and joy.
Barbara was preceded in passing by her beloved daughter; Belinda Howard, Parents; Calvin L and Blanche Lucille (Golon) Godwin, sisters; Teresa Corbit, Margaret Fergeson, and brothers; Dewey Godwin and Kenneth Godwin.
Barbara’s life was a testament to perseverance, compassion and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her, but her legacy of love, generosity and hard work will continue to live on in the hearts of her family forever.
