Azalea May Knight, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born on March 25, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina. Azalea has been a resident of Avon Park since 1984 having come from Wauchula, FL where she worked as a packer and a bookkeeper in a vegetable packing house. She was a member of the New Testament Mission and Church of Sebring of which she loved dearly. Azalea was a strong, beautiful woman, deeply committed to her family. She is survived by her daughter: Terry J. Bachman (Greg) of Avon Park, FL, sons: Allen James Knight (Elizabeth) of Tampa, FL, Wade Eugene Knight of Sebring, FL, step-daughter: Mary Lois Sparks, step-son: James Knight, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Azalea was preceded in death by her husband: William Earl Knight, and brother: Bucky Ford. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Avon Park, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mike Karl officiating. Interment will directly follow services at the Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park.
