Audrey Sharlene Gaither, age 65 passed away on August 24, 2019. She was born in LaPorte, IN to Edward and Nancy (Baker) Harmon on August 25, 1953. Audrey had been a resident of Florida since 1978 living in Orlando and then moving to Kissimmee in 1987. For a short time her and her husband, Tom moved to Ariton, AL to retire before relocating back to Sebring, FL in 2017. She liked to cook and crotchet. Audrey was especially interested in her family history and had an extensive amount of genealogy records that she researched and collected of her family over the years. Some records went as far back to the 1600’s. She also loved her yellow lab named Charlie. Audrey is survived by her children, Nancy (Joseph) Pallerine of Sebring, FL, Sheila (David) Cadiz of Ariton, Alabama, and one son. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christina Blain of Birmingham, AL, John (Brittany) Schay of Sherwood, AR, Sarah Blain of Birmingham, AL, and Tabitha Sadler of Sebring, FL. Two brothers also survive her, Robert Harmon of LaPorte, IN and Scott (Susan) Harmon of LaPorte, IN. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Amy Harmon of LaPorte, IN; Jeffrey Harmon of LaPorte, IN; Russell Harmon of LaPorte, IN; Jeannette (Gregg) Bashore of New Carlisle, IN and Jackie Harmon of LaPorte, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gaither, Jr., her parents and one brother, Sherman Harmon. Her memory will be cherished by all those that loved her. Quoting daughter, Nancy Pallerine, “My mom was one of a kind who I know will always be watching over me. I will miss her greatly and my heart will forever have a part of it missing. She will always be remembered as a fighter till the very end.” Quoting daughter, Sheila Cadiz, “I greatly loved and respected my mother. She held the family together, even in the bad times. She had a strong will and did things her way. I will miss her guidance.” Quoting granddaughter, Brittany Schay, “ I will forever miss her little smirks and her smiles every time her and I talked. I’m going to miss her and I in the kitchen sharing recipes every day. I haven’t been a part of the family very long, but she made me feel like I belonged from the very first moment I met her.” Quoting grandson, John Schay, “Grandma Audrey always had a niche for movies. Growing up in Kissimmee I remember watching all kinds of movies with her in the early mornings.” Quoting granddaughter Christina Blain,” She was the only grandma that I knew. She was the best grandma she could be.” Quoting granddaughter Sarah Blain,

” She was unstoppable and strong.”

Audrey had requested that in lieu of gifts or flowers that donations be made to your local Humane Society.
