ARTHUR JOSEPH KEATING, JR., M.D. Dr. Arthur Joseph Keating, Jr., 63, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Sebring. He was born February 11, 1946, to Arthur Joseph and Florence (Kelly) Keating in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2005, coming from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Keating was of the Catholic faith, was a graduate of Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and practiced Rehabilitative Medicine for many years in Chicago and Rockford, Illinois. He was the founder and owner of Rockford Rehabilitation Medicine Specialists and was Chairman of the Rehabilitation Department in Chicago and Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was the recipient of the Republican Senatorial Medal of Freedom, the highest and most prestigious award Republican Senators can bestow on an individual. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Patricia Keating, of Sebring; sister, Florence Gartner and niece, Kelly Gartner, both of Philadelphia, PA. Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Father J. Peter Sheehan officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in Dr. Keatings memory.
