Annie Ellen Kozak

Annie Ellen (Apok) Kozak, of Avon Park, Florida passed away peacefully on June 23, 2018, the morning of her 86 ^th birthday. Annie was born June 23, 1932 in White Mountain, Alaska, the daughter of the late Robert Apok and Martha (Walker) Apok. She was one of 11 siblings.

On May 25, 1956 Annie married Philip W. Kozak, who survives her. They made their home in Greensburg, PA and later in Evansville, IN. They retired to Avon Park, FL. She is also survived by her son Philip W. Kozak Jr. of Rapid City, SD; daughter Patricia Kozak Valentine of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Christopher Kozak of Rapid City, SD; Gina and Carly Valentine of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Mary Apok, Arlene Soxie and Barbara Mazonna of Nome, AK. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Kozak Rowland; siblings, Ethel Koshney, Margie Troffer, Martha Tate, Roberta Rodin, Robert Apok Jr., James Apok and Gerald Apok.

Annie will be remembered as a beautiful singer (she sang with the Sweet Adelines, a women’s barbershop chorus), an avid golfer, a talented seamstress and needle pointer, a talented cook, and loving wife and mother. In retirement, Annie and Phil lived for a time in Las Vegas, where Annie truly enjoyed playing the slots machines.

It was Annie’s wish to have no services, but to be cremated and her ashes placed along side of those of her daughter, Debra.
