Anna Marie Slack

Anna Marie Slack, born February 15, 1921 in Thurmond, West Virginia, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son-Dr. Lawrence E. Oyler and his wife, Sherron of Southport, North Carolina; two grandchildren-John C. Oyler and his wife, Rachel of Boca Raton, Florida and Dr. Sara Ann DuMond and her husband, Dave of Charlotte, North Carolina; six great-grandchildren-Gregory Warneke, John C. Oyler, Jr., Lisa Marie Oyler, Anna Grace DuMond, Tag Jameson DuMond, and Caroline Avery DuMond; and many wonderful friends, especially Ruth Smith and Don Lamb. Annie was able to touch a lot of hearts. She was a welder on B-24 bombers during World War II; she was a licensed Beautician and owned Anna Maries Beauty Salon in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a caregiver for many wonderful years for Hugh Jones, volunteered at Florida Hospital, and was a member of Pinecrest Golf Club. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
