Anna Marguerite Porter

Anna Marguerite Porter, age 95, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday April 15, 2013, in Sebring, FL. She was born on May 3, 1917, in Kankakee, IL to Andrew and Anna Nelson. She joined Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) in 1947 and faithfully served the Lord for 40 years as a nurse specializing in leprosy care in Nigeria West Africa. Marguerite married Rev Derek Porter in 1949 in Nigeria. In their retirement years Derek and Marguerite managed a ministry of cutting and trimming used stamps for resale thus raising funds for missionary work. She is survived by Graham (Lori) of MI, David (Jo) of FL, Grace of IL, Eldon (Becky) of SC and Eileen (Ronald) of IN/FL, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Derek, her parents and siblings. Services will be held on Saturday May 11, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in the SIM chapel, 900 Andes Dr., Sebring, FL.
