Anna Gatie Beveridge went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Hugh and Anna Beveridge and was the youngest of six children. She grew up in a Christian home and after graduating from nursing school, felt the Lord was leading her to be a missionary in Africa. She joined the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) and sailed to Africa in the fall of 1941, where she worked for almost forty years in the country of Nigeria. Her work for the Lord took her to remote areas working in several bush dispensaries and leper colonies, an eye hospital, teaching Bible and leading women's Bible studies. She retired in 1981 and came to the SIM Retirement Village in Sebring, Florida in 1987, where she recently celebrated her 100th birthday. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00am in the SIM Chapel, 900 Andes Drive, Sebring, FL. Memorials may be sent to SIM at 4114 Nigeria Street, Sebring, FL 33875.
