Andre Allen Davis

January 29, 1964 — May 7, 2022

Sebring

Andre A. Davis (58) of Sebring, Florida passed away on May 7, 2022.

Andre was born in New London, CT to Gail Fiorelli and Richard Davis on January 29, 1964.  He was married to “Mitzi” Margaret Davis on December 3, 1999 in Alpine, Texas.   He was a proud alumni of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas where he held a degree in Geology.   He worked for more than 15 years with One Hope United in Highlands and Hardee counties in Florida in the field of child welfare and child protective services.  Prior to that, he worked for the Florida Department of Children and Families also in that role for 5 years.   He was a very passionate advocate for both adults, children, and families in Florida, and spend the last 20 years trying to make the lives of the community safer for them. He was a model to others in his field showing how to treat everyone with kindness, respect and dignity no matter the situation, especially children and youth.   His smile and vivid blue eyes always lite up a room and welcomed all who encountered him.  He was the recipient of more awards and honor than can be counted for his service over the last 20 years.  He was most proud of the moments when someone would approach him in public decades later after having worked with him and say, “Mr. Andre remember me, I was a child, and you helped my family when I was little.”   Or the parent, who was able to successfully learn to care for themselves and their family again.  He was also a world traveler, who traveled Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and Central America extensively during his life.  He loved the outdoors and nature.  He loved animals too…. He just loved.

Andre was proceeded in death by the following:  Richard Davis (father), William Fiorelli (stepfather), Albert and Marion Hemstreet (Maternal grandmother and step grandfather), and Harold and Win Harper (Maternal grandfather and step grandmother).

Andre was survived by “Mitzi” Margaret Davis (wife) and beloved children Jedidiah “Jed” Davis (21) and Jasmine Davis (18), Gail Fiorelli (mother), Aaron and Kathy (Martini) Davis (brother), Sean and Lisa (Garant) Davis (brother), Jennifer and Ryan McNeil (niece), Kimberly and Brett Bertot (niece), Michelle Davis and Jon Whelpley (niece), Angelene Davis (niece), Allyson Davis (niece), Jewelia, Malachi, Alexandra, and Joy Jarrell (nieces/nephew).  Great nieces and nephews: Emmalyn, Dylan, Taylor, Tanner, Harper, Davis, Maverick, Cadence, Olivia, and Silas.

Andre requested to have no formal memorial service. He requested to have his ashes spread at his favorite spot in Southwest Texas.  His family will be making that journey in the months to come.

The family asks that instead of flowers or cards or other items consider donating to your local Domestic violence shelter or organization, food bank, animal shelter, foster or youth shelter or planting a tree or flowers in his honor.   Remember other as he did share laughter and joy.  We have all been better off having known him.

The family would also like to share our sincere thanks for but not limited to the following: Dr. Daniel Montero and staff, Dr. Ali (ICU department Advent Hospital Sebring), the multitude of nurses and staff, Vitas Hospice staff, Wendy Cheney, and Darby Barwick.
