Anastacio Tamayo, age 92 passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines to Juan Geslani and Francisca (Garcia) Tamayo. He was a Dentist and Optometrist. He enjoyed gardening. He devoted a lot of time in his younger years to providing free Dental and Eye care to those in need in the Philippines. He served as a long time member and Elder at the Pasadena Seventh Day Adventist Church. He also served in the United States Armed Forces of the Far East during World War II. Dr. Tamayo had been a resident of Avon Park since 2004 coming from Glendale, Calafornia. He is survived by his children-Dr. Roland Tamayo (Angelina) of Glendale, California, Dr. Percival Tamayo (Sharon) of Avon Park, Florida and Anna Fe Celestial (Rolando) of Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren-Rona Martin (Bryan), Bryce Tamayo (Joy Rastrollo), Sharry Gensolin (Steve), Patrick Tamayo (Amanda Bence) and Alfi Park (James); great grandchildren-Kyla, Joshua, Bradley, Tyler, Madeleine, Taylor and Andie and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Tamayo was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years-Fidelina Tamayo, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida with services to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Boling officiating.
