AMOS E. FREELAND Amos E. Freeland, 93, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, in Sebring. He was born November 13, 1917, to John J. and Maude Anne (Smith) Freeland in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1926, coming from Tellico Plains. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1961 after 20 years of service and was a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Sebring VFW, Sebring Church of the Nazarene and was an avid baseball and softball player in his younger years. Amos was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Roma, in 2009, his daughter, Jeanne Lanier in 1986 and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Ken and daughter-in-law Jeannie Freeland; brother, John Freeland, all of Sebring and four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
