Alma Rose Hooper, 86, of Avon Park, went home to be with her Lord on March 31, 2025.
A beloved wife, mother and a friend who enjoyed life and spending time with those she loved. She was an avid gardener, who took pride in the many varieties of the orchids she grew. As a wife of a Scoutmaster, she volunteered much of her time in support of Scout Troop #156 in Avon Park. In recognition of her efforts and endless contributions to the troop, she was nominated for and awarded the Silver Beaver Award, a distinction being the highest award that can be awarded at the council level. She was also honored jointly with her Scoutmaster husband Larry, to have the Scout Lodge #156, building named “The Hooper Lodge” in honor and recognition of their 40 years of long-standing dedication and support. Alma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry, and their daughter Misty Dollar. She is survived by her son, Marcus Hooper and his wife Ruth, her son-in-law Steve Dollar, many nieces, nephews’ family and friends. A Memorial Service will take Place on Saturday 2:00 P.M. May 10, 2025, At the Hooper Lodge in Avon Park. In lieu of flowers, it’s the family’s wish that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop #156 in Avon Park.
