Allan Wayne Trevelyan, age 93, of Sebring, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 with his wife by his side. He was born September 3, 1931 to Lt. Col. Ray A. and Dorothy E. (Tower) Trevelyan in Port Au Prince, Haiti. After living all over the U.S. as a Marine Brat, he became a resident of Sebring in 1946. He served in the U.S. Air Force as Crew Chief and Flight Engineer during the Korean War. While serving with the Strategic Air Command, he had duty in countries from Greenland to North Africa, he often recounted those adventures in letters and short stories. He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War. Allan was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Am Vets, Elks BPOE 1529, DeSoto City Volunteer Fire Department, JJKA Fraternity and the Cattleman’s Association. He was a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and Florida Southern College with a degree in Citrus Horticulture. The consummate out-doors man, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, monitoring his blue bird boxes and flying. He treasured his days of being a pilot and cattle ranching in Florida and Alabama. Allan was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife of 56 years – Velma Kendrick Trevelyan; Daughter – Kim Boswell; Sisters – Fern Leeper and Gay White; and Brother – Thornton Trevelyan. Allan is survived by his Wife- Sandra W. Trevelyan; Daughters – Zoe Butler (Roger) and Linda Allen (Kenneth); Son – Larry Trevelyan; Brother – Eric Trevelyan (Cherrie); 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 PM at First Sebring Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Good Shepherd Hospice of Highlands County.
