Alice J. Lucas

ALICE J. LUCAS Alice J. Lucas, age 99, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 27, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on March 29, 1913 to Cornelius and Cora (Gebuys) VanStee. She joined SIM in 1943 and was a Missionary in Niger, West Africa as a Children's Teacher. "Alice fully came to believe in Christ's sacrifice as her only way of salvationnot keeping the Law." She was a member of the Church of the Way and was a resident of Sebring since 1982 coming from Niger, West Africa. She is survived by her son, Steven Lucas (Fatuma), Arlington, VA; daughters, Susan Luce (Randal), El Cajon, CA and Carole Moll (Keith), El Cajon, CA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lucas in 2000. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the SIM Chapel with Rev. Reinhold Buxbaum officiating. Graveside services and Interment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 11:30 AM. Contributions may be made in her memory to Little Lambs, 710 S. Eucalyptus Street, Sebring, FL 33870.
