Alice Kulick

November 19, 1921 — October 28, 2011

Mrs. Alice Kulick (Edwin) formerly of Wausaukee, WI died at the age of 89 in Sebring, FL. She was born in Chicago, daughter of Marion and Martha Witkowski, and lived there until her marriage to Mr. Kulick in 1945. She graduated from Wells High School and attended Herzl Junior College. She was a graduate of Bryant and Stratton College, all in Chicago and worked as a reporter and an associate editor in the petroleum department of the Chicago Journal of Commerce until moving to Wausaukee in 1945. Mrs. Kulick was an active member of the Polomis-Tahlier Post 150 auxiliary for the American Legion for many years and was a member since WWII ended. She held various auxiliary offices and was a past president. While living in Wisconsin, she was also a member of St. Augustine's Church and sang in the church choir many years. She held offices in the PTA and in the Home and School Club, and had been a Den Mother for five years. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and had been a tutor through South Florida Community College. Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of shuffleboard, playing boardgames, cooking and baking for her friends and family, Fannie May candy, Dresl cakes, homemade pies, watching Lawrence Welk and Jeopardy!. She was an avid reader, letter writer and movie buff. She was a proud US citizen who flew the flag in a spotlight every night. She is survived by one son, Lee Kulick (Bonny) of Watervliet, MI; two grandchildren, Christopher Kulick (Maya) of Breckemridge, CO; Dr. Beth (Gireesh Sonnad) Kulick of New York, NY; and one great granddaughter, Evie June Kulick, also of Breckenridge, CO. A funeral mass will be said at St. Catherine Catholic Church on Monday, October 31st at 10:30. Friends and family are invited to the clubhouse of Sebring Village following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the following: Schulze Diabetic Institute, University of Minnesota Medical School (www.diabetes.umm.edu) or Southeastern Guide Dogs (www.guidedogs.org)
