Alex Joseph Sabo II

Alex Joseph Sabo II, age 73, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. He was born on February 5, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Alex and Julia Sabo.

Alex graduated from Sebring High School in 1971, earned his BA from the University of South Florida in 1975, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Dayton Law School in 1978. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978, Alex began an illustrious 47 year career as an attorney. His career highlights include being branch chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Regional office in Miami, FL, the first corporate counsel at Raymond James, twice elected president of the Florida Securities Dealers & Advisors (FSDA), and passing Florida legislation on elder law protections.

In his free time, Alex enjoyed playing piano and guitar, playing sports, acting in local theater productions, attending the races, and spending time with his children and friends. He had a love of storytelling, using his way with words to share fond memories of his life with those he loved and cherished. In his youth Alex spent much of his time working in his parents’ restaurant, Alex’s, an iconic Sebring Circle staple. The restaurant was known by neighbors and racers as a place for great food and company. 

He is survived by his loving children: Juliana Elizabeth Sabo, Zachary James Sabo (fiancée Alexia Virue), Maximilian Alexander Sabo, and his former wife Norma Elizabeth Sabo. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Richard Sabo.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
