Albert L. Scarpati

ALBERT L. SCARPATI Albert L. Scarpati, 74, of Sebring, Florida, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. He was born on October 13, 1938 in Maspeth, Queens, NY, to the late Albert Scarpati and Florence Deffa Scarpati. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked with his father in steel construction in New York before moving to Florida, where he established a real estate and property management business. He married Joan Burns Scarpati in 1993. An active member of First Presbyterian Church of Sebring, he served as a deacon and an elder. He also belonged to civic organizations, including the Lions Club. Albert is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Kathleen Scarpati; Diane Wewer; Marybeth Sanders and Tracy Vasquez and a son, Albert Scarpati III. He also leaves several stepchildren, including the very special Stacia Gessner and eight grandchildren. A service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the youth program at the First Presbyterian Church of Sebring, 319 Poinsettia Ave., Sebring, Florida 33870.
