Adam David Greenslade, beloved son of David and Sandra Greenslade, was born in Hornell, NY in 1976. He passed away on June 22, 2024, in Avon Park, FL. Adam was devoted to his partner in life, Julie Maxcy and her sons. He was a loving father to his children Scott Barnes (Lindsay) and Adam Greenslade (Ashley). He was a cherished brother to Andria McHargue (Chip) and a doting uncle to Jacey Hamilton (Scott) and Ella McHargue. Adam took great joy in being a grandfather to Eliana, Raeland, Hudson, and Dawson.
Adam graduated from Avon Park High School and furthered his education at South Florida Community College, focusing on mechanics. Throughout his life, Adam dedicated himself to his passion for baseball. He served as an umpire and baseball coach for local youth teams, leaving a lasting impact on countless young players. His dedication, thoughtfulness, fairness, and competitive spirit shone through in everything he did.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Adam had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He found peace and joy in fishing, enjoyed the camaraderie of darts, and relished the challenge of golfing. However, his true happiness was found on the baseball field, where he nurtured the talents of young athletes and instilled in them a love for the game.
Adam was known for his supportive nature, his fun-loving spirit, and his unwavering commitment to his family. He treasured moments spent with loved ones and always made time to attend family gatherings. His presence brought light and laughter to those around him, leaving a legacy of love and joy.
A memorial service in memory of Adam will be held at Union Congregational Church, 106 N. Butler Ave., Avon Park, on August 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avon Park Baseball Inc. at P.O. Box 1907, Avon Park, FL 33826.
Adam's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed but always remembered with fondness and gratitude. May he rest in peace.
